Children’s agrees to invest $11.5 million in Avondale

In the age of the Affordable Care Act and the realization that your zip code plays a huge role in your health and life expectancy, we are seeing an increasing number of hospitals give back to their communities. A great example is Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, who has many partners, including Community Development 4 All People and south side schools.

Recently, the Cincinnati neighborhood of Avondale entered into similar arrangements with Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital, including investing $10 million in community development and housing projects, which will be coordinated by OCDCA member Avondale Comprehensive Development Corporation.
