This week was the Ohio Housing Conference, put on by Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) and Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA). It draws approximately 1,600 people to Columbus for three-four days of affordable housing education and networking each year.
Also this week, The Akron Beacon Journal wrote a great editorial called “Expand the Housing Trust Fund.” This brief piece lays out why, not only maintaining and protecting the trust fund, but expanding it will only help Ohio. The people at the Akron Beacon Journal get it.
“The construction of affordable housing has positive ripple effects through local economies.”
Also, this week Bill Faith, executive director of Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio, spoke with Ohio Public Radio’s Andy Chow. Here the piece on WKSU. It’s been a great week for housing advocacy. We expect this momentum to carry on into 2016!
