Early this morning, the destructive amendment that would have reduced the Ohio Housing Trust Fund in half was removed from the state budget bill by the conference committee. The amendment to remove was offered by Senate Scott Oelslager (R – North Canton). The budget bill now moves for final vote in both chambers today and tomorrow and on to Governor Kasich for signature. Many thanks to all who weighed in by writing letters, sending e-mails, making calls and visits to their state legislators. Your powerful outpouring of opposition mattered and was felt throughout state government. Without your support this victory would not have been possible!
The Ohio Housing Trust Fund, whole and strong for the new biennium beginning Wednesday may now continue its critically important housing work throughout the state.
Thank you for making your voice heard!
